Healthcare Training
Hospital Life Support Training
Duration: 2 hours – 1 day
This course is designed to train healthcare professionals’ resuscitation skills including, airway management using adjuncts, adult basic life support, automated external defibrillation, paediatric basic life support. Training is delivered in accordance with the Resuscitation Council UK guidelines.
Cannulation
Duration: ½-day
This course is designed to equip delegates with the knowledge and skills of cannulation, including anatomy and physiology, vein selection, cannulae choice, insertion technique and recording.
Venepuncture
Duration: ½-day
This course is designed to equip the delegate with the knowledge and skills of venepuncture and include anatomy and physiology, vein selection, and technique.
People Handling
Duration: ½-1 day
This course teaches delegates the principles of safe moving & handling of people and includes both theory and practical training whilst complying to statutory requirements of the Health & Safety regulations.
Infection Control
Duration: 2-4 hours
This course provides information on infection control within the work environment by identifying routes, signs and symptoms of infection along with prevention of cross infection. This course is suitable for all grades of care/nursing/medical staff from all areas of patient/personal care.
Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA)
Duration: ½-1 day
This course teaches delegates what abuse is, signs and symptoms and what to do if abuse is suspected. This course meets the requirements of CSCI.
Care of Medication
Duration: 2-4 hours
This course teaches the control and care of medicines including legislation, medicine categories and storage and disposal.
Child to adult abuse
Duration: 1 day
This course provides information on child to adult abuse and its effects. It is suitable for any professional who is likely to encounter parents who are experiencing this type of abuse
Learning Disabilities
Duration: ½ day
This course identifies the types of disabilities including aspergers/Autism, Dyslexia/Dyspraxia and how to assist the clients with these conditions.
Self Harm
Duration: 1 day
This course is designed anyone involved with the care of a person who may potentially cause harm to themselves. It identifies the reasons for self harm, the emotions involved, types of self harm, eating disorders as well as ways to help self harmers.
Principles of Care, Equality & Diversity
Duration: ½ day
This course identifies the importance of a patient’s right to individuality & identity along with dignity and privacy
Chiropody & Podiatry CPD Courses
We are able to offer various courses which are recognised by the Society of Chiropodists and Podiatrists for CPD points. These courses include; infection control, dermatology, basic life support, anaphylaxis updates and local analgesia. Please contact us for further information.
CPD courses for Dentistry
We are able to offer various courses which can be utilised towards CPD points. These courses include basic life support, recognition and management of medical emergencies within dental practice.
Occupational Health
We currently have a course which is ideal for occupational health staff who have the responsibility of attending medical emergencies in the course of their duties. This course is called Emergency Procedures within Occupational Health and includes, resuscitation, airway management, AED, oxygen and entonox administration and the management of anaphylaxis.
